With her husband, Sumit, she raised her two daughters in Area 5.</strong></span></p><p>Both of Deepti's daughters chose to attend James Logan High School (Go Colts!), where one is a senior and the other graduated and currently studies data science at UC Berkeley.</p><p>Deeply committed to building a stronger community, Deepti is a dedicated public servant and joined the Union City Human Relations Commission in 2022. Today, she serves as the Commission's Chair and has led numerous projects to support and connect with residents directly. She established the utility-box cultural mural program, advocating for it through the Human Relations Commission, Parks and Recreation, Arts and Culture, and the City Council. Deepti also secured the approval and funding for a Peace Pole that will be installed in Old Alvarado Park this year.</p><p>To connect the city with residents and the local community, Deepti won the vote to move the commission’s work out from behind the desk and into in-person community site visits. She also serves on Union City’s Climate Action Plan Committee since August 2025.</p>

Residents in Trustee Area 5 are also represented in California's 14th Congressional District, CA State Senate District 10, and CA State Assembly District 20.</p><p>Trustee Area 5 is home to Pioneer and Delaine Eastin Elementary Schools, along with the neighborhoods surrounding Contempo Park, Pioneer Park, and Accinelli Park. The area is bounded by Alameda Creek, Alvarado Boulevard, and Dyer Street.</p>

We're a candidate-controlled committee registered with the California Fair Political Practices Commission, FPPC ID# 1492952. Questions go to <a href="mailto:ElectDeepti@gmail.com">ElectDeepti@gmail.com</a>.</p><p>This is a small local campaign. We collect very little and we don't sell any of it.</p><p>The sign-up form asks for your name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, and anything you want to tell Deepti. Whatever you type in it comes to us. Donations run on ActBlue rather than on this site, so they take your payment and passes us the contributor information the state requires. We never see your card number. Our website host keeps the ordinary server logs every website keeps: your IP address, which pages loaded, when, and what browser asked for them. Like every campaign, we also work from the public voter file, which counties collect when people register and the state releases for election purposes. It gives us names, addresses, and whether someone voted in past elections, never how they voted. It's how a candidate knows which doors to knock on. This site is for voters, and we don't knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13.</p><p>We use all of that to email you campaign updates, to text you if you asked us to, to tell whether you live in Trustee Area 5, and to answer what you write to us. Volunteers help, and they see what they need for the task in front of them and nothing else. Form submissions travel over an encrypted connection and access to the lists is kept narrow.</p><p>Donations work differently, because California campaign finance law is strict here. Give a total of $100 or more in a calendar year and we have to report your name, street address, occupation, and employer on Form 460, filed with the Alameda County Registrar of Voters and open to anyone who wants to read it. Smaller donations aren't itemized, though we still record them. Contribution records stay as long as the law says they have to. For everything else there's no fixed schedule.</p><p>We don't sell, rent, or trade your information, and we don't hand your email address or phone number to another campaign, a party committee, or a vendor for their own use. We haven't done it and we're not planning to start. The public reporting above is the one place your information leaves us, and the law requires it. We'd also turn something over if a court required it.</p><p>The campaign hasn't put Google Analytics or any advertising pixel on this site, we don't build profiles of visitors, and we don't follow anyone from here to anywhere else, so a Do Not Track signal has nothing here to act on. The site runs on a platform called RUN!, which like most platforms may set cookies and count visits as part of serving pages, and we're asking them for the specifics. She sits on the organizing committee for the eight-day Garba celebration at Contempo Park and she organized neighbors to help an eleven-member Union City family burned out of their home. She has been an active volunteer for the county’s Point-in-Time homeless count, led food and neighborhood cleanup drives, and often spends time engaged with school activities or helping elderly community members.</p>
